The Role

Own and lead hardware development for Homeland Security products.

You are a hands-on technical leader responsible for both hardware execution and day-to-day leadership and development of a hardware engineering team. You report to the R&D Manager.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead hardware project planning and execution using established development processes
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and line management for hardware engineers
  • Own system-level hardware architecture and technical decisions
  • Drive digital, analog, RF, and mixed-signal hardware design
  • Lead PCB design, layout, signal integrity, and high-speed digital design
  • Manage component selection, BOM optimization, EOL components, and running changes
  • Support hardware bring-up, debugging, and failure/root-cause analysis
  • Lead hardware verification and validation, including automated test systems
  • Oversee environmental, reliability, and EMC/EMI pre-compliance testing
  • Drive requirements definition, technical risk identification, and mitigation
  • Support measurement automation and JTAG / boundary scan-based debugging
  • Own hardware across the full product lifecycle, from concept to field support
  • Collaborate closely with software, firmware, mechanical, test, and manufacturing teams


Must Have

  • Experience leading hardware development projects with full product ownership
  • Strong design background in at least one of:
  • PCB design & layout
  • RF design
  • System-level hardware design
  • Solid knowledge of:
  • Digital & analog circuit design
  • High-speed digital design & signal integrity
  • Power electronics and power distribution
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Oscilloscopes, logic analyzers
  • Spectrum analyzers, signal generators
  • Vector network analyzers
  • Understanding of:
  • Microcontroller and SoC architectures
  • Basic firmware debugging and hardware bring-up
  • Communication protocols: I²C, SPI, UART, USB, CAN, Ethernet
  • Experience with failure analysis, product support, and field issue resolution
  • Autonomous, well-organized, highly self-motivated, and results-oriented
  • Able to communicate and collaborate effectively at all organizational levels


Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
