Staff RAN Operations Engineer
Are you a seasoned RAN expert ready to take ownership of network performance for cutting-edge satellite-enabled cellular services? We’re seeking a Staff RAN Operations Engineer to lead production efforts for a globally deployed NTN (Non-Terrestrial Network) service used by millions of devices worldwide.
In this role you will be the production authority for RAN health and performance, evolving reactive monitoring into proactive, service-centric assurance. You’ll define and refine RAN KPIs, drive live network optimisation, integrate AI/ML into operations, and act as the Level-3 escalation point during critical incidents.
What you’ll do
- Lead service-aligned RAN performance ownership, defining actionable KPIs that matter.
- Drive production optimisation and parameter tuning for a live NTN RAN environment.
- Apply machine learning models to improve detection, performance, and preventative operations.
- Provide Level-3 technical support and deep root-cause analysis for network issues.
- Mentor engineering teams and author standards, processes, and operational runbooks.
What you bring
- Advanced degree (Master’s/PhD) or equivalent experience in telecom, electrical engineering or computer science.
- Extensive experience in RAN engineering and live network operations with LTE/5G.
- Strong knowledge of satellite challenges (e.g., Doppler, link budgets, timers).
- Experience with cloud-native tooling, observability stacks, and Linux-based environments.
Why this matters
This is a rare opportunity to shape how RAN performance is delivered for a next-generation connectivity platform that seamlessly bridges terrestrial and satellite networks. You’ll work with cross-functional teams across Europe, Nordics and beyond to ensure world-class network reliability under real-world SLAs.
Location: Hybrid in Helsinki, Finland (3 days/week onsite).
