IT Governance Lead – Berlin – Up to €105k

We are partnering with a global insurance organisation seeking an IT Governance Lead to join their growing security and governance function in Berlin.

This position requires one day a week in the office in Berlin but you can work anywhere across Germany.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IT Governance or Information Security professional to take ownership of governance frameworks and help shape the organisation’s security strategy within a regulated environment.

As part of a growing function, this role also offers future leadership opportunities, with the potential to build and lead a team as the business continues to expand.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and develop the organisation’s IT Governance & Information Security framework (NIST-based)

• Act as, or transition into, the Information Security Officer (ISB) role

• Lead security initiatives across governance, risk, and operational security domains

• Translate regulatory requirements into practical security controls and processes

• Establish pragmatic security best practices across technology, processes, and people

• Lead and coordinate internal and external IT security audits

• Work closely with senior stakeholders and group governance functions

Requirements

• 6+ years’ experience within IT Governance, Information Security, or related areas

• Strong experience with ISMS, risk management, and governance frameworks

• Experience working within regulated or risk-sensitive environments

• Experience supporting or leading IT/security audits

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

• Understanding of modern cloud-based environments

Language Requirement

Fluent German is essential

Business-level English required

Location: Berlin (On-site)

Salary: Up to €105,000
