Operations Security Specialist

Based in Otopeni

Purpose of the position:

The role involves supporting the Security Manager in their duties that involve collaborating with internal and external stakeholders in order to mitigate risks and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Participates in Wizz Air security quality control activities (audits and functional inspections), as per the approved yearly security compliance plan.
  • Analyses company security-related reports from operations on security-related matters and takes appropriate mitigation actions in coordination with line management and the Security Manager.
  • Timely reports all security-related incidents and irregularities to the Security Manager.
  • Participates in investigations on security-related matters, involving internal and external stakeholders (airports, ground handling etc.).
  • If required, assists in contacting Civil Aviation Authority, law enforcement and government agencies.
  • Provides passenger information to law enforcement authorities upon request in coordination with Legal and/ or other departments if needed.
  • Participates in promoting security standards across the company.
  • Participates in preparing and editing security bulletins and materials.
  • Participates in preparing and editing security management system documentation (Supplementary Station Procedures etc.).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken)
  • Any work experience
  • Experience in aviation security is a plus
  • ICAO/ IATA security trainings (basic, auditor) is a plus
  • Knowledge of security management principles (ICAO, IOSA)
  • Experience with aviation security training (preferred)
  • Experience in Security Management System is a plus
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
