Join our Security Compliance & Customer Trust team!
The Security Compliance team leads the implementation and maintenance of global security compliance programs aligned with standards and regulations such as ISO 2700x, SOC 2, PCI Security Standards Council standards (PCI), Information Security Registered Assessors Program (IRAP), Information System Security Management and Assessment Program (ISMAP), TISAX, Esquema Nacional de Seguridad (ENS), and the NIS2 Directive. The team ensures regulatory compliance across regions, particularly EMEA and APJ, while collaborating with auditors and internal stakeholders.
As a participant in our program, you will gain valuable experience and contribute through meaningful project work. You will have the opportunity to join us for training, networking events, and engagements with company leadership. Our internships are open to students and graduates.

This role focuses on conducting gap analyses, supporting internal and external audits, gathering documentation and evidence, and helping close compliance gaps. It also involves identifying security risks through assessments and guiding stakeholders in implementing appropriate mitigations.
As an InfoSec Compliance Intern, you will be responsible for:
- Working with Akamai Security Compliance team on projects by supporting analysis or stakeholder work (documentation processing, providing clarification to stakeholders etc.)
- Reviewing requirements and assessing compliance with requirements of specific elements of scope
- Supporting transition to GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) tool
- Analyzing the applicability and effectiveness of security controls by evaluating their performance
To be successful in this role you will:
- Be a current student with a great interest in Computer Science
- Understand basic principles of security (confidentiality, integrity, availability, privacy, etc.)
- Understand basic compliance concepts (security control, requirements, audits, gap assessment, non-conformity, etc.)
- Have good communications skills
- Be able to analyze issues and have good attention to detail
Our 6-month intern program starts in July. The program requires you to be available 40 hours per week during summer months (July-September). We offer the opportunity to work part-time during the academic year (October-December).
This is a flexible role and may be performed at your home and/or the local Akamai office (in the country advertised). We are happy to discuss working options in this role and encourage you to speak with your recruiter in more details when you apply.
