Join a high-impact engineering team building advanced infrastructure to detect and prevent online fraud at scale. In this role, you will design and develop highly performant backend systems capable of processing large volumes of real-time data. Working in a fully distributed environment, you will collaborate with product, data, and engineering teams to deliver robust APIs and scalable platform capabilities. Accountabilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and infrastructure supporting real-time data processing and web APIs.
- Develop high-performance systems using modern backend technologies while ensuring reliability, efficiency, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate backend services with other platform components and ensure seamless system interactions.
- Investigate complex system behaviors, perform root cause analysis, and develop solutions that enhance performance and stability.
- Conduct performance optimization, testing, debugging, and monitoring to maintain high availability and system efficiency.
- Contribute to engineering best practices and promote a data-driven development culture across teams.
- Participate in a shared on-call rotation to support platform reliability and respond to operational incidents.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the technical growth and knowledge sharing within the team.
- 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development.
- Strong proficiency in Go and/or Node.js , with a willingness to work across both technologies.
- Demonstrated experience designing and maintaining scalable backend architectures and distributed systems.
- Experience building and optimizing APIs, microservices, and real-time data processing systems.
- Solid knowledge of SQL and experience working with databases such as DynamoDB, Redis, or Elasticsearch.
- Familiarity with modern software engineering tools including Git, CI/CD pipelines, IDEs, and scripting tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex systems and propose effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to collaborate in a globally distributed team.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to team-based development.
- Interest in mentoring teammates and contributing to a collaborative engineering culture.
- Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Familiarity with analytical data platforms like ClickHouse, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Databricks.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog.
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience contributing to or maintaining large open-source projects.
- Understanding of internet security and privacy mechanisms.
- Competitive salary ranging approximately from $150,000 to $200,000 USD depending on experience, skills, and location.
