Senior Project Manager

9-Month Contract

Brisbane CBD + Hybrid Working


We are partnering with a large Queensland Government agency to appoint a Senior Project Manager to lead a complex, implementation-focused program. This hands-on role requires strong integration capability, stakeholder alignment, and disciplined delivery. We are seeking a proven implementation leader with a track record of embedding change within complex environments.


The Opportunity

You will lead the end-to-end delivery of a complex, implementation-focused program involving substantial business and technology change. This will include process uplift, system enhancements, and cross-functional integration to achieve sustainable operational outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Delivery

  • Develop and execute detailed project, change, communication, quality, and resource plans
  • Deliver outcomes within agreed scope, timeframe, and quality parameters
  • Establish governance forums, reporting frameworks, and oversight mechanisms
  • Monitor and report progress to senior stakeholders and assurance bodies
  • Proactively manage risks, issues, and interdependencies across the program lifecycle

Stakeholder & Integration Leadership

  • Lead cross-functional and inter-departmental collaboration
  • Engage executives, business SMEs, and technical teams to ensure alignment and buy-in
  • Facilitate workshops to support process design, governance, and documentation
  • Manage vendors, consultants, and internal delivery resources
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and delivery-focused culture

Change & Operational Readiness

  • Drive change and communication activities to support successful implementation
  • Ensure effective knowledge transfer to business and technology teams
  • Embed sustainable processes and complete structured handover documentation

Additional initiatives aligned to broader government priorities may arise during the contract term.


What You Will Bring

  • 5–10+ years’ experience delivering IT and business transformation initiatives
  • Demonstrated success leading implementation-heavy programs with substantial integration components
  • Experience operationalising legislation or policy into working business processes and systems
  • Strong knowledge of structured delivery methodologies (PRINCE2, PMBOK, Agile or hybrid models)
  • Proven stakeholder engagement capability across executive, operational, and technical audiences
  • Experience in business process analysis, documentation, and requirements gathering
  • Strong risk, issue, and dependency management capability
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams
  • Cross-agency or enterprise-wide program delivery experience
  • Experience within government or other highly regulated industries
  • Formal certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, Agile/Scrum, or TOGAF
