Dynatrace Expert / Observability Consultant - Contract - URGENT !

My client a leading provider to the banking sector is looking to hire a Dynatrace Expert.

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Dynatrace Expert to support the company-wide initiative to mature and scale our observability capabilities. The expert will play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimizing end‑to‑end observability using Dynatrace across our application landscape, including custom-built platforms, integration layers, and legacy systems.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with advanced Dynatrace features (Full‑Stack Monitoring, App Observability, Logs, Synthetic, RUM, Distributed Tracing), strong integration skills, and the ability to guide teams through onboarding and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

1. Dynatrace Implementation & Configuration

• Deploy and configure Dynatrace OneAgents, ActiveGates, and monitoring extensions.
• Set up dashboards, alerts, custom metrics, tagging rules, management zones.
• Implement Distributed Tracing and Business Transactions for high‑value apps.
• Ensure monitoring coverage across hybrid environments (cloud, on‑prem, clusters).

2. Integration & Automation

• Build or configure integrations with custom systems, APIs, middleware, and 3rd‑party tools.
• Work with engineering teams to instrument applications (Java, .NET, Node.js, Python, etc.).
• Support CI/CD integration and automation of monitoring configuration where possible.

3. Enablement & Knowledge Transfer

• Onboard internal teams into Dynatrace as early adopters.
• Provide hands-on training, best practices, documentation, and workshops.
• Act as a trusted advisor for architecture, monitoring standards, and observability patterns.

4. Troubleshooting & Optimization

• Lead diagnosis of performance issues, bottlenecks, and root-cause analysis using Dynatrace.
• Proactively identify improvement opportunities in application and infrastructure performance.
• Partner with application owners and platform teams to define SLIs, SLOs, and KPIs.

Required Skills

• 3–5+ years of experience with Dynatrace (SaaS or Managed).
• Deep knowledge of:
• OneAgent deployment models
• ActiveGate configuration
• Service flows, distributed tracing, PurePaths
• Log ingestion, Events & Anomalies
• Cloud monitoring (AWS, Azure, GCP optional)
• Experience integrating Dynatrace with:
• CI/CD pipelines
• APIs / Webhooks
• Custom applications or legacy systems
• Familiarity with enterprise architectures and microservices.
• Strong troubleshooting skills (performance, latency, backend dependencies).
• Ability to work with dev teams, platform engineers, architects, and SREs.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Dynatrace Certification (Associate, Professional, or Extensions Developer).
• Experience with monitoring:
• Kubernetes / OpenShift
• API gateways, ESBs, integration platforms
• Observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK
• Scripting experience (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Understanding of ITIL or modern operational practices (SRE, DevOps).

Soft Skills

• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Capable of running workshops and guiding non‑expert teams.
• Proactive problem solving and advisory mindset.
• Ability to navigate multiple competing priorities and limited resources.
