Job Description

We are seeking a Business Systems Analyst with expertise in banking and wealth management domains to support data ingestion initiatives. Strong analytical skills, coding proficiency in SQL and Python, and experience in story grooming and requirements management are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Domain Collaboration: Work closely with business teams in banking and wealth management to understand data requirements, define use cases, and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Data Ingestion & Analysis: Assist in designing and validating data ingestion processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with domain specific regulations.
  • View Creation: Develop and maintain domain-based data views (e.g., customer portfolios, transaction histories) using SQL, tailored to business needs.
  • Story Grooming & Requirements: Refine user stories, clarify acceptance criteria, and collaborate with developers to ensure alignment between business goals and technical implementation.
  • Developer Support: Act as a liaison between business and engineering teams, providing clarifications on requirements, and assisting in troubleshooting data related issues.
  • Data Analysis: Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of data workflows, business rules, and system interactions.
  • Business side: Deep knowledge of wealth management — investments, financial planning, regulations, client needs.
  • Technical side: Strong data engineering skills — building pipelines, managing databases, enabling analytics.
  • Combined: A professional who understands both finance and tech, able to design data systems that improve decision-making, compliance, and client service in wealth management.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Domain Knowledge: Proven understanding of banking and/or wealth management processes (e.g., asset management, compliance, client reporting).

Technical Skills

  • Basic coding proficiency in SQL (querying, optimization) and Python (data manipulation, scripting).
  • Familiarity with data ingestion tools (e.g., ETL frameworks, APIs) is a plus.
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Agile Experience: Familiarity with story grooming, sprint planning, and Agile methodologies.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Analysis, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Snowflake).
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and data governance best practices.
  • Prior work in data warehousing or business intelligence environments.
