SimpleVMS, now part of Avionté Staffing Software following our 2023 acquisition, is a leading vendor-funded Vendor Management System (VMS) that streamlines contingent workforce management for mid-to-large employers. Our platform delivers real-time visibility, effortless job order distribution, integrated timekeeping, automated invoicing, compliance, and more—at no cost to clients thanks to our vendor-paid model. Recognized for years as one of Cincinnati's fastest-growing private companies, we're now part of the first North American platform uniting employer VMS, staffing agency tools, and mobile talent solutions.

We're seeking a Senior .NET / MS SQL Developer to own the design, development, optimization, and maintenance of our high-performance .NET applications. This is a backend-heavy full-stack role focused on robust C#/.NET 10 back-ends, MS SQL Server stored procedures, and performance-critical features — with very light front-end work (no graphic design, advanced JavaScript, or UI-heavy tasks required).

You'll collaborate with 8 full-stack developers, 2 product managers, a dedicated QA engineer, and a 12+ person support team to deliver reliable, scalable solutions that power staffing efficiency for hundreds of organizations.

What You'll Own & Achieve

  • Design, develop, optimize, debug, and maintain .NET web applications backed by MS SQL Server, with heavy emphasis on high-performance stored procedures (the core of this role).
  • Hand-tune and optimize SQL stored procedures for speed and efficiency; troubleshoot and resolve database issues including concurrency, locking, blocking, and deadlocking scenarios.
  • Implement new features, client-specific customizations, and workflows in our .NET applications.
  • Ensure clean, maintainable code that adheres to best practices in a modern .NET 10 environment (Entity Framework Core in places, but optimized stored procs for critical paths).
  • Contribute to code reviews and team collaboration to maintain high quality.
  • (Optional/Plus) Support SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) as backup; we can train experienced SQL pros on this.

What You'll Bring

  • 6+ years of professional .NET / C# development experience (or Bachelor's in a technical/analytical field + 4+ years).
  • Expert-level skill in writing, optimizing, and debugging C# web applications and APIs.
  • 2+ years hands-on experience creating, optimizing, and debugging MS SQL Server stored procedures (required; strong performance tuning is key — we use EF Core selectively but rely on tuned procs for optimal results).
  • Proven SQL Server troubleshooting and performance tuning expertise, especially with concurrency/locking/blocking/deadlocking.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Self-starter mindset — thrive in a no-micromanagement environment where you own tasks end-to-end and deliver accurately/on-time independently.
  • Native/fluent English (written and spoken).
  • Nice-to-Haves: Experience with DevExpress dashboards/reporting, SSRS, Power BI, Crystal Reports, or similar; .NET MAUI / Xamarin mobile development; familiarity with staffing/VMS domain.

How We Work

  • 100% remote in the US, full-time (40 hours/week).
  • Core collaboration hours: 11 AM – 4 PM Eastern US time.
  • High autonomy and direct impact on a mission-critical platform in a growing, integrated ecosystem.
  • Opportunity to work on the latest .NET 10 LTS features in a supportive team.
