This is a fantastic role with a business that already has strong footing in commercial energy procurement. They’ve built strong relationships throughout the industry with a long standing customer base which is continuously developing, and have seen year on year growth.
They are now looking for a commercial product manager who can turn market complexity into profitable energy solutions, that both generate revenue and add value to customers.
What You’d Actually Be Doing
In this role you will be identifying various ways to add value to ongoing customers through coming up with new product offerings, then executing them end to end; from working with the business to create new solutions/offerings, assessing viability and profitability, negotiating with energy partners through to working with sales to take them to market.
This is a crucial role to the business, taking them from an energy broker to a true, ongoing partner.
You’ll be:
- Designing commercial frameworks for new energy offerings.
- Building the pricing logic and margin structure behind them.
- Structuring partner agreements and revenue models.
- Setting risk boundaries so delivery is controlled and scalable.
- Embedding new solutions into the workflows through utilising operational systems and technology.
- Working closely with sales to make sure the commercial logic holds up in the real world.
The Type of Person This Suits
The right person for this role is adaptable and can work in a dynamic environment. You’ll have strong commercial acumen and able to bring to life changes that matter and make a difference. Whilst you don’t need to be a financial guru, building and interpreting financial modelling to show solutions will be viable is important.
- You’re commercially sharp with experience in product development.
- Able to build financial models to support product viability, pricing and profitability.
- You understand how energy contracts, renewables, efficiency initiatives or distributed assets work in practice.
- Able to map end to end processes and drive operational implementation.
- You’re comfortable negotiating with external partners and creating commercial agreements.
- You can move from spreadsheet > process > stakeholder conversation without losing clarity.
- Someone who can sit between product, finance, operations and sales and make it all commercially coherent.
