Join us as a Design Engineer to bridge the gap between Tech and Design, scaling our processes and accelerating our product innovation. You will tackle high-impact challenges immediately, such as a major interface overhaul and automating our localization processes.

👩‍💻🧑‍💻 As a Design Engineer at Qonto, you will

  • Build production‑quality components and interactions that are both delightful to use and easy to reuse across the product.
  • Rapidly prototype new concepts and features to validate ideas with real interactions before full implementation.
  • Bridge the gap between design and engineering by translating Figma designs into robust code and pushing design forward through technical innovation.
  • Collaborate closely with designers and engineers to define what’s technically possible and push the boundaries of our product experience.
  • Explore and industrialise new tools (AI, automation, localisation, etc.) turning experiments into reliable, documented workflows the whole team can benefit from.

🤔 What you can expect

You will be the first Design Engineer at Qonto, giving you the unique opportunity to define and shape this role within a mature Product structure. We value "shipping to learn." You will move us away from static handoffs toward dynamic, code-based prototyping and continuous improvement

You will have access to a cutting-edge stack including SwiftUI, React Native, Compose, Figma, and the latest AI tools like Cursor and Claude Code.

🤝 About your future manager

You will work closely with Marion Echevard to shape this new strategic role and help our team ship value to our customers 10x faster.

You will also collaborate closely with Didier Hilhorst, our VP Design, who brings deep experience scaling Design Engineering teams (ex-Uber) and will support you in defining the vision for this role. They both value autonomy, craft obsession, and an entrepreneurial mindset.

🏅 About You

  • Experience: You have a proven track record bridging design and tech, with a strong background in Mobile Development (SwiftUI, React Native, or Compose) or Frontend engineering.
  • Technical mastery: You are fluent in HTML/CSS and comfortable with modern development environments (Terminal, Scripts, Git). You know when to hack a prototype and when to write production-grade code.
  • Tooling obsession: You are passionate about industrializing workflows. You have experience building scripts, plugins, or automations (e.g., Figma to Code) and are eager to leverage AI tools.
  • Design sensibility: While you think like an engineer, you have a strong eye for design and deeply understand how Design Systems work.
  • Autonomy & mindset: You are comfortable with ambiguity and can define your own roadmap. You are a "builder" who rolls up their sleeves to get things done without waiting for permission.
