Job Mission:

As a key strategic enabler in the Vacuum Automation Division, you will strengthen Piab’s position as a leading company in robotic gripping by managing and developing our global Robotic Gripping standard product assortment.

You will be responsible for setting and driving the strategic direction for the portfolio, including ordering and introduction of new products, pricing and cost management, and successful product launches. In this role you will:

  • Own the strategic roadmap for the Robotic Gripping standard offering globally.
  • Manage the product assortment and lifecycle based on performance, customer needs, and market trends.
  • Lead commercialization efforts to ensure new products are successfully launched and adopted in our key segments.

This role reports to the Senior Product Manager, Ejectors, Vacuum Automation Division, with a dotted line to the Vice President, Robotic Gripping Business Unit (future solid line). You will be part of a dynamic and multicultural team responsible for the strategic direction, development, and management of our product portfolios. The role has no direct reports and may require global travel to both Piab and external parties’ locations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the product assortment: define the scope of current and future product lines by reviewing portfolio performance, market trends, and new product ideas or improvements.
  • Set and drive the strategic roadmap for the Robotic Gripping product portfolio in alignment with division and business unit strategy.
  • Lead new product development from a market and customer perspective: clarify customer needs and requirements, obtain market information, and write market requirement specifications for new products and upgrades.
  • Build and maintain business cases for new products and updates to existing products, securing profitability and long-term value.
  • Ensure product profitability through pricing, discount structures, and cost management.
  • Conduct business intelligence and continuously monitor portfolio performance, customer adoption, and competitive landscape.
  • Develop strategic prioritization of portfolio development towards our key business segments and applications.
  • Act as a divisional resource in New Product Introduction (NPI) projects and the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process, representing the voice of the customer and the business.
  • Own the global commercialization strategy for new products, including positioning, value propositions, launch plans, and go-to-market materials.
  • Collaborate closely with regional sales, R&D, project engineering, and operations to secure successful launches, life-cycle management, and continuous improvements.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • A university degree in engineering, business management, strategy, or a similar relevant field.
  • A proven track record in product development, innovation, R&D, or product management in multinational companies, or in management consulting, preferably in a B2B environment.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams across regions and functions.
  • Experience in direct and/or indirect leadership, driving initiatives and influencing stakeholders without formal line responsibility.
  • Preferably experience in customer-facing interactions through sales meetings, development projects, or business development activities.
