Backend Developer (Contract) – Remote (UK)

We’re currently looking for a Backend Developer to join a growing engineering team on a contract basis.

This is a fully remote role (UK based) working alongside a senior backend developer on an established product, supporting backend services, APIs and data infrastructure.

Key Details

• £250 per day
• Outside IR35
• Fully remote (UK based)
• Working hours: 12pm – 8pm UK time (to align with US teams)

The Role

You’ll be working under the direction of a Senior Backend Developer, helping to build and maintain backend services that support a wider platform. This role is focused on delivery rather than leading projects or stakeholder management.

It’s well suited to someone who enjoys hands-on backend development, solving technical problems, and contributing to a collaborative engineering team.

Experience Required

• Strong backend development experience
• Working with databases and data structures
• Building and integrating APIs
• Understanding of networking and backend infrastructure
• Comfortable working within an existing engineering team and codebase
• Experience supporting scalable backend systems

Nice to Have

• Experience working in distributed or remote engineering teams
• Exposure to cloud environments and modern backend architectures
