Currently, British Airways has an exciting opportunity open for an HR Generalist – Benefits.
This position will be based in the United States, NEW YORK, supporting colleagues across both the US and Canada.
NYC Hybrid
The base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $110,00 per year, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
This range represents our good faith estimate of the compensation for this role at the time of posting.
As part of our People function, this role plays a critical part in delivering a seamless, compliant and colleague‑focused benefits experience. You’ll take ownership of day‑to‑day benefits administration across the Americas, working closely with our UK‑based International Benefits team and a wide range of internal and external partners.
From healthcare and leave administration to workers’ compensation and compliance, you’ll ensure our benefit programs operate smoothly, accurately and in line with local legislation, while continuously looking for opportunities to improve how we support our people.
You’ll be responsible for delivering all British Airways benefit programs in the US and Canada, supporting annual open enrolment, managing relationships with benefit vendors, and resolving employee queries across healthcare, supplemental benefits, absence and workers’ compensation.
You’ll manage workers’ compensation cases and settlements, administer all types of leave, update time and attendance systems to ensure accurate payroll, and maintain compliance with federal, state, provincial and local regulations.
You’ll Also Complete
- Statutory reporting, conduct spot audits to ensure benefit eligibility,
- Review and enhance benefits processes,
- Provide coaching and guidance to managers on benefits and leave matters.
You’ll Bring
- Strong analytical and digital capability, including advanced Excel skills and confidence using benefits platforms such as ADP.
- Detail‑oriented and customer‑focused, you’ll be comfortable managing complex cases while balancing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Demonstrate professional courage, strong judgement and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to influence stakeholders, challenge constructively and continuously improve the way we deliver our people services.
