Network Engineer
Whitehall Resources are looking for a Network Engineer. This role is hybrid working with 3 days per week onsite in Cheshire and the remainder remote working, for an initial 6 month contract.

Job Description:
The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, reliable network infrastructure across on‑premises and cloud environments. The role ensures high availability, performance, and resilience of network services while supporting business growth and operational stability. Working closely with security, cloud, and platform teams, the Network Engineer provides technical expertise to ensure end‑to‑end connectivity, segmentation, and network control.
- Key Responsibilities:Design, configure, and support core networking components including switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Implement network segmentation, routing policies, VPNs, and secure connectivity across sites and cloud platforms
- Manage firewalls, ACLs, and network security controls to maintain a secure perimeter and internal environment.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimise for reliability and speed.
- Support cloud networking across Azure/AWS, including VNets, VPCs, private endpoints, and hybrid connectivity.
- Participate in change management, incident resolution, and continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain network documentation, topology diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Assist in capacity planning, resilience testing, and failover validation.
- Skills & Experience:Strong understanding of routing, switching, firewalls, and network security. Experience with cloud networking, monitoring tools, and troubleshooting complex connectivity issues.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent is beneficial.
