Java Software Engineer

SII Belgium is seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Java Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing software applications, as well as maintaining and improving existing systems. You would join various teams working in AGILE mode for projects in the Defense, Energy, Banking or Telecom sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute in the design and outlining of Java solutions (with the analyst and / or architect)
• Understands the business needs and perform the needed functional analysis
• Ensure continuous integration and deployment of solutions
• Deliver scalable Java web applications according to agreed planning and budget
• Test applications and overcome technical issues encountered
• Add value to the sales cycle by giving input to your commercial colleagues (presales)
• Add constantly to the Java competency within SII Belgium
• Support the project manager during the estimation process
• Train customers and users

Requirements:

• Master's degree in computer science
• 2+ years of relevant experience
• Familiar with Agile methodology such as Scrum; TDD
• Good knowledge of Java Spring MVC
• Proficient in Docker
• Experienced in JPA/Hibernate, Maven, GIT, SVN Jenkins
• Experience with HTML5, CSS frameworks (Bootstrap, ...), Javascript frameworks (JQuery, Angular JS, React JS...) is an added value.
• Fluent in English, French or Dutch is a plus.
