We are currently seeking a Senior Data Scientist with a strong Generative AI focus to join a market-leading organisation on a long-term freelance contract.

This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI initiatives that deliver real impact across the organisation. You will play a key role in designing and delivering AI-powered solutions ranging from intelligent virtual assistants to automation and optimisation platforms, while collaborating closely with engineering, product, and business teams.

Location: Remote (Finland-based candidates preferred) with occasional visits to Helsinki

You will work across both generative and predictive AI use cases, applying advanced data science techniques to build scalable AI solutions and deliver measurable business value.

• Work with a market-leading organisation on innovative Generative AI projects across multiple areas of the business.

• Lead the development of AI-driven solutions addressing real-world business challenges, including virtual assistants, automation tools, and optimisation systems.

• Apply a combination of generative and predictive AI techniques, including prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, and model fine-tuning.

• Work with technologies such as speech-to-text systems, agentic AI applications, image generation and interpretation, and NLP solutions.

• Utilize statistical modelling and machine learning techniques alongside modern GenAI approaches.

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable AI applications using Python and a modern data stack.

• Own projects across the end-to-end AI lifecycle, from data exploration and experimentation through to deployment and performance monitoring.

• Present insights, results, and recommendations directly to senior stakeholders and leadership teams.

• Leverage access to large-scale datasets to deliver meaningful and measurable business outcomes.

• Collaborate within an Agile team environment, contributing to best practices, technical direction, and knowledge sharing.

• 7+ years of experience working as a Data Scientist or in a similar advanced AI role.

• Strong experience using Python within applied data science, machine learning, or AI-focused projects.

• Solid knowledge and practical experience with Generative AI techniques, including prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, and model fine-tuning.

• Proven experience delivering AI or machine learning solutions in production environments.

• A strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to emerging AI technologies and frameworks.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value.

• A collaborative mindset with experience working in cross-functional teams, often taking ownership of projects and guiding technical direction.

• Experience working with LLM-based applications and modern GenAI frameworks.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP for deploying AI solutions.

• Experience building production-ready AI pipelines or scalable ML systems.

• Exposure to agentic AI workflows, conversational AI systems, or multimodal AI applications.
