About the Role:

For a multinational client in Amsterdam, we are looking for a Machine Learning Engineer on an interim basis. You will be responsible for the development and production of Machine Learning models.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and iterate on Generative AI and NLP solutions using LLMs and modern ML techniques
• Drive experimentation, define clear success metrics, and rigorously evaluate model performance
• Develop and optimise prompt engineering strategies and model workflows for production use
• Work on text-based AI use cases
• Start from base or foundation models, simplifying and adapting them for specific product use cases
• Translate complex AI concepts into clear, understandable solutions for cross-functional stakeholders

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in applied Machine Learning, Data Science, or AI roles
• Experience with end-to-end Machine Learning workflows (building models and putting them into production)
• Strong NLP and Generative AI experience, particularly with LLM-based systems
• Hands-on experience with model fine-tuning, evaluation, and experimentation
• Solid understanding of prompt engineering and production-oriented model design
• Ability to simplify complex problems and focus on pragmatic, scalable solutions
• Comfortable working in an environment that prioritises impact over academic research
• Based in the Netherlands (no sponsorship offered)
