At ING Hubs Spain we are looking for a Network & Firewall Engineer
Your role and work environment:
We are looking for a Network & Firewall Engineer with operational experience in the administration of Palo Alto Networks firewalls and basic networking knowledge.
The role will be responsible for carrying out daily operational tasks, applying simple changes, reviewing alerts, and collaborating in the routine maintenance of the infrastructure, always following established procedures.

to maintain end‑to‑end several decentralized environments across different countries, ensuring their reliability and continuity so they operate smoothly day after day.

Your key responsibilities:
Operational tasks
- Apply simple changes on Palo Alto firewalls: creation and modification of rules, objects, and basic policies.
- Manage centralized configurations and policies through Panorama.
- Perform connectivity checks and post‑change validations.
- Review basic logs and events, identify common incidents, and escalate those requiring advanced analysis.
- Execute routine maintenance tasks following documented procedures.
- Keep technical documentation up to date (inventories, changes, simple diagrams).
Collaboration and support
- Provide support for low‑complexity network incidents.
- Collaborate with other teams (security, systems, networking) on guided tasks.
- Participate in scheduled change windows with support.
Learning and improvement
- Gradually develop skills in network troubleshooting, traffic analysis, and automation.
- Propose improvements to operational procedures when possible.

Mandatory
- Basic experience administering Palo Alto Networks (rules, objects, logs, simple policies).
- Knowledge of Panorama: device groups, templates, centralized policies.
- Networking fundamentals:
- TCP/IP
- VLANs
- Subnetting
- Static routing
- Basic Linux knowledge (file management, essential commands, logs).
- Initial scripting knowledge (Python or Bash) used to automate simple tasks.
Desirable
- CCNA certification or equivalent level of knowledge.
- Previous experience in technical support, NOC, or basic network administration.
- Familiarity with Layer 2 / Layer 3 troubleshooting.
- Basic knowledge of Palo Alto APIs and automation with tools such as Ansible.
Professional Competencies
- Ability to follow established procedures accurately.
- Attention to detail when performing repetitive or documented changes.
- Ability to detect simple incidents and escalate when necessary.
- Good technical communication within the team.
- Proactive attitude and learning‑oriented mindset.
