We are looking for a skilled Product Designer to shape the user experience of Data2Evidence, our cutting-edge research platform designed to handle complex, multi-modal healthcare data built on the OMOP Common Data Model. Reporting to the Lead Product Manager, you will collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product management, and data science teams to transform intricate data workflows into intuitive, elegant, and secure interfaces that accelerate medical research and discovery. This is a high-impact role where design excellence directly contributes to scientific productivity, data governance, and global research collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead UX strategy and end-to-end design for Data2Evidence across key workflows (data ingestion, cohort building, analytics, and governance).
- Translate complex technical and research requirements into intuitive user experiences, actionable wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
- Conduct user research with researchers, data scientists, and institutional stakeholders to inform and validate design decisions.
- Define, evolve, and advocate for a cohesive Data2Evidence design system, ensuring accessibility, clarity, and consistency across all modules.
- Facilitate design reviews and champion user-centered design principles within Agile sprint planning and release cycles.
- Contribute to product vision and positioning by shaping the overall look and feel of Data2Evidence.
- Ensure design solutions accommodate accessibility standards (WCAG) and regulatory requirements.
- 3+ years of experience in product design or UI/UX design, preferably in healthcare, research, or data-intensive software environments.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating your ability to solve complex design problems and create intuitive, visually appealing interfaces.
- Advanced proficiency in industry-standard design tools like Figma (design systems, scalable components, prototyping, auto-layout).
- Experience designing within Agile development methodologies and collaborating via tools like GitHub, Jira, and Confluence.
- Experience with user research methodologies and a deep understanding of user-centered design principles.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate your design decisions effectively.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Familiarity with Vue.js and Vuetify.
- Experience with or exposure to data visualization tools such as Tableau or Apache Superset, and an understanding of how end users interact with analytics dashboards.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and best practices for inclusive design.
- Familiarity with designing for healthcare data platforms or researchers working with complex data types (EHR, genomics, imaging).
- Experience working with open-source products or designing for community-driven ecosystems.
- This role requires regular on-site work in our Singapore office.
- Applicants should currently be based in Singapore.
- Contribute directly to developing digital health solutions that positively impact the health and quality of life of others.
- Meaningful nonprofit work: be part of initiatives that advance society while finding personal fulfillment in your role.
- Join a diverse, international team collaborating across three locations: Potsdam, Berlin, and Singapore.
- Enjoy a generous education budget and two education days per year (pro-rated for part-time employees) for courses, books, conferences, and professional development.
- Benefit from first-class corporate health insurance.
- Access subsidised annual health check-ups to encourage regular screenings.
- Take advantage of subsidised gym memberships to support a healthy lifestyle.
- Thrive in a supportive work-life balance culture.
- Subsidized home broadband benefit.
- Engage in regular knowledge-sharing through “All Hands,” “Town Halls,” and “Knowledge4Life” events.
