Job Title: Network L1 Engineer
Experience: 2-5 Years
Location: Tata Nagar – Jamshedpur (NOC)
Shift: 24x7 Rotational Shift
Department: JSR Network Operations Center (NOC)
Certification – CCNA & Fortinet Firewall (Preferred)
Key Responsibilities
- Very good Understanding of TCP/IP and troubleshooting of Network Connectivity
- Knowledge of OSI model, IP Addressing & Subnetting, , routing protocols like OSPF, BGP is must.
- Basic knowledge of MPLS is must.
- Hands-on experience on Cisco Routers and Switches.
- Monitor network & SD-WAN devices and circuits using NMS tools.
- Identify and respond to alerts related to:
- WAN link failure
- SD-WAN tunnel down
- High bandwidth utilization
- Device CPU/Memory threshold breaches
- Perform L1 troubleshooting:
- Interface status check
- Link up/down verification
- VLAN reachability check
- Basic routing table verification
- Verify routing status and BGP/OSPF neighbor state.
- Perform initial troubleshooting before escalating.
- Create, update, and track incidents in ticketing tools (Service Now).
- Coordinate with ISP/vendor for circuit-related issues.
- Assist during planned maintenance windows.
- Validate post-change network health.
- Perform health checks before and after changes.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain incident logs.
- Prepare daily/weekly reports:
- Link availability
- Incident summary
- SLA compliance
- Update network inventory records.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must
- Candidate is ready to work in shift whenever required.
