Fullstack Engineer - AI Focus - Sydney

Most engineering roles ask you to maintain legacy code. This team is asking you to develop an AI-first web and mobile platform.

I am recruiting for an early-stage, mission-driven startup transforming financial advice with AI and automation. They are shaping cutting-edge AI-powered workflows to dramatically cut administrative burdens for advisers in the Australian market.

They need a full-stack software engineer who can collaborate directly with the founding team to shape both the technical architecture and the product direction. You aren't just writing code; you are embedding Gen AI tools into an intuitive user interface in a fast-paced startup environment.

The Mission:You’ll be working alongside a small, mission-driven team co-founded by former advisers and tech leaders, blending deep domain knowledge with AI innovation. Expect rapid iteration, comfort with ambiguity, and the opportunity to wear multiple hats.

Who you are:

~ An Experienced Builder: You bring 3+ years of experience as a software engineer.

~ A JavaScript Expert: You have solid framework experience, specifically with React, Node.js, Next.js, and TypeScript.

~ A Systems Thinker: You possess a solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, containers, and CI/CD.

~ An Integrator: You have experience integrating with APIs, third-party systems, and streaming services.

~ Adaptable & Driven: You thrive in environments where adaptability, ownership, and creative problem-solving are essential.

~ Qualified: You must be a Permanent Resident or Australian Citizen.

The "Nice to Haves":

~ Prior experience in fintech, or similarly regulated domains.

~ Python experience.

~ Gen AI experience, specifically RAG or agent development.
