Launch Recruitment are currently supporting an Australian leading enterprise organisation on the lookout for an Android Mobile Engineer to support the development, delivery and operational performance of a large-scale native Android application for an initial 6-month period with a high probability of extension.

- Develop, maintain and enhance a native Android application using modern architecture and best practices.
- Contribute to the evolution of the Android development framework, including migrating legacy components to modern Android standards.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate mobile builds, testing, code signing and deployments to the Google Play Store and internal distribution channels.
- Ensure high application reliability and performance by monitoring production environments and addressing crashes, regressions and operational issues.
- Implement and support security and compliance requirements, including secure data handling and automated vulnerability remediation.
- 7+ years’ experience in software engineering, including 2–3 years working with native Android applications or mobile delivery platforms
- Strong knowledge of the Android SDK and modern Android development practices
- Experience designing or maintaining mobile CI/CD pipelines, ideally using Azure DevOps or similar tooling
- Experience integrating mobile applications with enterprise platforms and APIs
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g. Splunk) to analyse performance and stability
- Experience implementing DevSecOps practices, including static analysis and automated security checks within pipelines
- Proven ability to transition teams from manual build/deployment processes to automated, code-driven workflows
- Strong stakeholder management skills with experience working across engineering, operations and security teams
- Android or cloud DevOps certifications are desirable
