Job Description

Your mission:

To strengthen our Synechron team, we are looking for a Senior Java Software Engineer to join us in supporting one of our clients, a global leader in transaction intelligence in Mechelen. Your responsibilities

  • Designing, developing, and optimizing core features of the enterprise-grade transaction observability platform.
  • Solving complex engineering challenges related to large-scale, real-time data ingestion, indexing, and search.
  • Building robust, high-performance backend components leveraging advanced search technologies such as Elasticsearch and Apache Lucene.
  • Collaborating closely with your Scrum team to deliver impactful product improvements that directly enhance the customer experience.
  • Taking ownership of technical decisions and contributing to the architectural evolution of the platform.
  • Writing clean and well-tested code while actively contributing to the engineering best practices and standards shared across the team.

Qualifications

Your profile :

  • You have strong experience in Java development (Java 11 or higher), with a proven track record of building high-performance, production-grade systems.
  • You demonstrate a solid understanding of software design principles and are comfortable owning technical decisions end-to-end.
  • You have experience working in agile environments and you communicate clearly while maintaining a collaborative team mindset.
  • You take a product-oriented approach to development and focus on delivering value to the customer, not only on writing code.

You would stand out if:

  • You have hands-on experience with Elasticsearch or Apache Lucene.
  • You have experience working with high-volume, real-time data processing systems.
  • You are familiar with financial messaging formats or have experience in the fintech or regtech industry.

Language and residency:

  • You speak English and Dutch fluently; working knowledge of French would be considered an asset.
  • You hold a valid work permit for Belgium.
  • You are able to work on-site in Mechelen office within a hybrid working model.
