Insly is a no-code insurance SaaS software provider with a global reach. With HQ in London and offices in Tallinn and Warsaw, Insly has grown fast and is backed by well-known investors.
Our mission is to digitalise and connect the $4 trillion insurance industry in order to reduce the cost of insurance for customers and help them access better insurance services.
1000+ insurance brokers and 50+ underwriting companies log into Insly every day to design and launch their insurance products, manage business-critical operations and support writing over €1bn in premiums. But we’re just getting started.
We are looking for a highly motivated DevOps Engineer who is passionate about automation, reliability, and scalable systems. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining infrastructure that enables fast, secure, and reliable software delivery.
You will work cross-functionally with development, QA, security, and product teams to ensure seamless integration between application code and infrastructure. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and takes ownership of platform stability and performance.
What You’ll Do:
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure cloud infrastructure on AWS (EC2, Autoscaling Groups, CodeDeploy, AMI, S3, EFS, VPC, ALB)
- Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines to accelerate software delivery
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management
- Improve system reliability, availability, and performance across a high-scaling application
- Monitor systems, identify bottlenecks, and proactively resolve issues
- Support production environments and participate in incident response, including on-call duties on a weekly rota
- Implement infrastructure best practices, including high availability and disaster recovery
- Enhance security posture through infrastructure hardening (e.g. CIS-standard AMIs) and automation, with particular attention to the handling of personally identifiable information (PII)
- Collaborate closely with developers to streamline release processes and manage scheduled deployments
- Drive continuous improvement of operational processes and tooling
- Document architecture, processes, and operational runbooks
- Contribute to the modernisation of infrastructure toward containerisation and Kubernetes (EKS)
What You’ll Bring:
- Strong experience managing cloud-based environments, specifically AWS (EC2, Autoscaling Groups, CodeDeploy, S3, EFS, VPC, ALB, AMI)
- Hands-on experience building CI/CD pipelines using tools such as TeamCity, GitHub Actions, or similar
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar
- Experience implementing configuration management using Ansible / AWX
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability platforms such as NewRelic, CloudWatch, or similar
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, with additional experience in PHP or Node.js being advantageous
- Strong understanding of networking, Linux systems, and security fundamentals
- Experience supporting production systems in high-availability environments
- Solid troubleshooting skills and a proactive mindset
- Understanding of security hardening practices, including CIS benchmarks and PII handling
- Willingness to participate in on-call duties on a weekly rota
- Flexibility to support scheduled out-of-hours deployments
- Must be willing to work based on UK timezone
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
