We're searching for Data Engineers at senior and mid levels to join our TOTAL product team in Helsinki. F-Secure TOTAL is our flagship consumer security product, protecting users across iOS, Android, Mac, and Windows with features including scam protection, VPN, identity theft protection, and browsing security.

We're facing an exciting challenge: our different platforms currently generate different types of events that are out of alignment. We need data engineers who can bring structure, normalization, and harmony to our data sources – not just across platforms, but across the various business needs this data serves.

You'll work alongside the central data engineering team (who have built our data platform using tools like Databricks and Kafka) to build a harmonized data product that represents the key data points of TOTAL. This is foundational work that will enable multiple high-impact use cases across the business.

This role is based in Helsinki, Finland, and we work in a hybrid setting with flexibility to work from home while coming together for collaboration at our modern HQ.

Key Responsibilities In This Role

Data harmonization & normalization:

  • Bringing structure to disparate data sources across iOS, Android, Mac, and Windows platforms
  • Creating a unified, normalized data model that serves various business needs
  • Building a harmonized data product representing key TOTAL data points on top of centralized tooling

Enabling Business Impact

  • Supporting activation and adoption initiatives by providing clean, actionable data
  • (personalized protection, enabele experience, communicate value comms) Enabling personalized tips, guidance, and customer steering to help users get the most protection from the product
  • Powering threat intelligence improvements to enhance scam protection and online safety

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Working closely with the central data engineering team and their Databricks/Kafka platform
  • Partnering with product managers and analysts to understand and serve data needs
  • Aligning with different product teams to ensure data harmony across the organization

What are we looking for?

  • Experience in data engineering, with ability to design and implement data models that serve multiple use cases
  • Proficiency with modern data platforms and tools (experience with Databricks and Kafka is highly valuable)
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with data transformation and normalization
  • Understanding of event-driven architectures and streaming data
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical data solutions
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams (product, analytics, engineering)
  • Full professional proficiency in English for collaboration in our international environment

You'll Stand Out If You Have

  • Experience harmonizing data across multiple platforms or product lines
  • Background in consumer product analytics or product-led growth data
  • Understanding of mobile and desktop application telemetry
  • Experience building data products that serve multiple stakeholders
  • Knowledge of security or threat intelligence data
