Product Manager/Sales Manager - Oil & Gas Sector - Compression Technology - Europe/Middle East, Hybrid - Permanent - Competitive Salary & Bonus Scheme - English-Speaking
One of our best clients is searching for an experienced engineer with strong technical knowledge of compressors/piston compressors to join their Aftermarket Sales team.
Our client operates globally across the oil and gas sector (including hydrogen) and has experienced consistent growth over the last decade. The feedback we have received from the candidates we have already placed with them has been extremely positive, and my Director and I had the chance to visit their headquarters in Germany last year to meet them in person.
For this position, our client is looking for a specialist in compression technology to maintain and service their existing accounts, strengthen their client base, and provide valuable training to their workforce. The position does not require being based in Germany — our client is happy for candidates to be located anywhere within the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, Africa).
The role also involves overseeing the entire sales region across EMEA and India. As such, there is a great deal of flexibility in determining your own strategies and schedule. All travel expenses will be fully covered, and our client is willing to offer a highly competitive and flexible salary package.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full lifecycle of aftermarket wear parts for piston compressors (e.g., piston rings, packings, valves, rider bands, gaskets, sealing components).
- Analyse product performance, pricing, market trends, and competitor offerings to ensure a competitive and profitable portfolio.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, product specifications, and lifecycle strategies.
- Identify opportunities for product improvements, standardisation, and cost optimisation.
- Support global and regional sales teams with technical expertise, pricing strategies, and solution recommendations.
- Serve as the technical point of contact for customers regarding wear‑part performance, compatibility, and optimisation.
Key Qualifications:
- Technical background in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; additional commercial experience is a plus.
- Professional experience in reciprocating compressors, rotating equipment, or aftermarket spare parts.
- Strong understanding of wear parts, maintenance cycles, material behaviour, and compressor performance.
- Commercial mindset with experience in pricing, sales support, or product management.
- Strong communication skills, customer orientation, and the ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
- Fluent in English; German is an advantage but not essential.
Company Benefits
- Bonus structure that increases annually
- Full healthcare coverage
- Relocation assistance
- 30 days of paid annual leave
- Excellent work–life balance and working environment, including regular company events and socials

Interviews are taking place over the next two weeks. The process consists of two stages: a 30‑minute Teams call with the Managing Director, followed by a fully paid visit to their headquarters in Germany for the final stage.
