The Project Manager will oversee strategic and technical projects in Europe’s fusion energy sector. Based in Karlsruhe, this role manages multiple projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met. The role ensures clear communication, minimizes scope and budget creep, and applies project management methodologies to deliver organizational goals and customer value.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery while meeting quality and safety standards.
- Define project goals and key design requirements.
- Develop and maintain project plans: scope, schedule, resources, risks, and budgets.
- Prepare reports and presentations; act as main contact between clients and supply chain.
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams.
- Manage partner and supplier relationships, ensuring quality standards.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to meet safety and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain essential project documentation: RAID logs, deliverable registers, change control, etc.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in a related science/engineering field.
- 5+ years’ experience as a Project Manager.
- Experience with unique projects (equipment/facility development, plant construction).
- Familiarity with global project management standards (PMBOK, etc.).
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects.
- Experience reviewing mechanical design drawings and CAD models.
- Strong communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Curiosity for new technologies and proactive learning.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Native German and fluent English.
