Barden is delighted to partner with a global business on the appointment of an Enterprise/Software Architect. . This role offers a rare opportunity for a hands-on architect who enjoys defining technical direction and validating it through code. You’ll work closely with engineering leadership to modernise a large-scale platform and drive the next phase of innovation across data, cloud, and AI.


ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Lead the architectural vision for our client’s product suite
  • Design scalable, cloud-native architectures
  • Stay hands-on, building proof-of-concepts and contributing production code to validate architectural decisions
  • Partner with platform, data, and product teams to define service boundaries, APIs, and integration patterns
  • Play a key role in the modernisation of legacy systems, evolving them toward scalable, modern, AI-enabled platforms
  • Drive opportunities to embed AI and intelligent automation


ABOUT YOU:

  • Experienced software architect or principal engineer who enjoys staying close to the code
  • Strong background designing and building distributed systems at scale
  • Deep expertise with .NET / C# and modern architecture patterns
  • Strong TypeScript / Angular experience, with the ability to own features end-to-end across the full stack
  • Experience with cloud-native systems (Azure preferred) and API-driven architectures
  • Comfortable influencing engineering standards across large teams
  • Curious about how AI and emerging technologies can transform complex workflows

Our client is based in Cork City Centre, the team is in the office three days per week.
