About Netop

Netop builds secure remote access solutions trusted by organizations in retail, finance, healthcare, industrial operations, and critical infrastructure. With a security-first architecture and strong alignment to Zero Trust principles, our systems run across cloud and on-prem environments and must meet high standards of reliability, compliance, and operational safety.

We operate a modern cloud SaaS platform (Netop Portal) and a mature on-premise product line (Netop Remote Control). Our infrastructure spans AWS, a few outgoing VMware ESXi systems, Entra ID, internal VPNs, and multi-environment deployments. Quality, stability, and automation are core to everything we do.

Job Information

  • Team: Infrastructure & IT
  • Level: L2 – Doing
  • Reports to: Head of Infrastructure
  • Location: Bucharest / Remote-friendly
  • Type: Full-time

Your Role

We’re hiring a DevOps Engineer (L2) to own and deliver infrastructure and CI/CD work across both the Portal (cloud SaaS) and On-Prem (desktop) product lines. This is a hands-on technical role for someone who wants to understand how systems really work — from networking to cloud infrastructure to CI/CD pipelines to identity and access management.

This is a great fit for someone who already has solid hands-on experience in AWS and automation, and is ready to take ownership of infrastructure components and deployment systems reliably and on time.

You’ll work closely with engineering, QA, and product teams to ensure our environments are secure, stable, observable, and reproducible. You’ll also help modernize internal tooling and streamline operations.

We don’t evaluate people based on “years of experience.” We care about your mindset: curiosity, ownership, fundamentals, and the drive to learn.

Soft Skills

  • Wants to truly understand how infrastructure works, not just use tools
  • Enjoys researching, debugging, and reasoning about complex systems
  • Strong sense of ownership and responsibility
  • Comfortable collaborating with developers, QA, and security teams
  • Capable of managing tasks independently and following through
  • Clear communication and willingness to ask questions
  • Eagerness to grow, learn, and continuously improve

Required

Hard Skills

  • AWS Fundamentals
  • Automation & Infrastructure
    • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform ideally, but CloudFormation/other IaC also acceptable)
    • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI or similar)
    • Ability to read and write shell scripts or simple automation jobs
    • Good understanding of version control (Git)
  • Systems & Platform Work
    • Comfortable working with Linux systems
    • Familiarity with Docker
    • Understanding of how software moves from dev → QA → staging → production
    • Ability to troubleshoot logs, metrics, service failures
  • Identity & Access
    • Basic knowledge of identity providers:
      • Azure Entra ID
      • SSO/OAuth/OIDC concepts
  • Willingness to learn certificate management, secret rotation, and access automation
  • Internal Tools & Virtualization
Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of Terraform, Packer, or AMT/vPro integration
  • Experience working with monitoring/observability stacks (Prometheus, ELK, Grafana, CloudWatch)
  • Understanding of C++ build pipelines for multi-platform apps (not required, but useful context)
  • Familiarity with network-level debugging (tcpdump, traceroute, logs)
  • Interest in security, compliance, or Zero Trust architectures

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve cloud infrastructure using AWS and Terraform
  • Operate CI/CD pipelines for both Portal (React/Node) and On-Prem (C++) teams
  • Manage internal tools including Entra ID, VPNs, and access workflows
  • Support the creation and maintenance of development, QA, staging, and production environments
  • Provision and manage VMs (AWS + VMware ESXi)
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting improvements
  • Help with incident response and root-cause analysis
  • Automate recurring tasks and reduce operational toil
  • Collaborate with developers and QA on deployment and release processes
  • Participate in improving infrastructure security and compliance readiness

Schedule & Location

  • Remote-friendly with a flexible schedule
  • Occasional on-site collaboration in Bucharest depending on team needs (we aim to not have any on-prem hardware)

Why Join Us

  • Work across cloud, on-prem, identity, networking, security, and CI/CD — rare breadth for a mid-level DevOps role
  • Learn from senior engineers while owning meaningful responsibilities
  • Exposure to complex systems used in high-security, high-reliability environments
  • High autonomy, direct impact, and fast iteration
  • Culture of transparency, learning, and disciplined engineering
  • Opportunity to grow into a Senior DevOps Engineer
