Overview of the Role
As a DevOps Infrastructure & CI/CD Engineer at HCLTech, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust DevOps infrastructure and automated pipelines. Your expertise will ensure seamless integration, continuous delivery, and high reliability of software solutions that drive the company’s and clients’ digital initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the continuous improvement of development and deployment processes.
Detailed Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage end-to-end CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes.
- Build and maintain DevOps infrastructure components, including build servers, artifact repositories, and orchestration tools.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools, ensuring scalability and repeatability.
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability of CI/CD and DevOps environments to meet organizational and client demands.
- Collaborate closely with development, QA, and operations teams to integrate automated testing and streamline code delivery.
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize build pipelines for performance, execution speed, and efficient resource utilization.
- Implement and enforce security best practices across CI/CD workflows, cloud, and on-premises DevOps infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages to enhance development and deployment efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to pipeline failures, infrastructure outages, or automation scripts.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement within DevOps practices.
Skill Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 4–8 years of hands-on experience in DevOps engineering, infrastructure management, and CI/CD pipeline operations.
- Strong expertise with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or equivalent.
- Proven experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
- Solid understanding of DevOps concepts, automation, and modern software delivery practices.
- Proficiency in scripting languages including Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience in managing both cloud and on-premises infrastructure environments.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Other Requirements (Optional)
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator) are a plus.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Knowledge of security and compliance standards in DevOps environments.
