Full Stack Software Developer – Arendal, Norway (Hybrid/On-site)

I’m currently working with a global technology company that is looking to hire an experienced Full Stack Software Developer to join their established development team based in Arendal, Norway.

This role sits within a highly collaborative engineering environment where developers are involved across the full product lifecycle — from design and development through to deployment and ongoing improvement of scalable technology solutions used globally.

The Role

As a Full Stack Developer, you’ll work as part of a skilled engineering team responsible for developing and improving both client-side applications and scalable backend services.

You’ll contribute to the development of new products while also enhancing existing systems, working across modern microservice architectures and cloud-based infrastructure.

The technology environment includes Linux platforms, with development primarily using

TypeScript and JavaScript on the frontend, and Kotlin, Java, and Node.js on the backend.

Key Responsibilities

• Developing client-side applications using TypeScript for deployment across a wide range of display environments
• Building and maintaining scalable backend services using Kotlin and Node.js
• Working within microservice architectures, focusing on security and authentication
• Managing messaging and data consistency using Kafka
• Processing and managing large-scale datasets (Big Data)
• Designing and maintaining NoSQL databases suited for high-volume data
• Supporting CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes
• Contributing to infrastructure design and maintenance within AWS environments

What We’re Looking For

• Around 5+ years’ experience in software development
• Experience with modern full-stack development frameworks and tools
• Exposure to technologies such as TypeScript, JavaScript, Kotlin, Java, Node.js, Kafka, NoSQL databases, and AWS
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate within cross-functional teams
• A proactive mindset with a passion for learning and adopting new technologies
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-moving development environment
• A degree in IT or Computer Science is preferred, although equivalent industry experience will also be considered
