Quorum’s Energy Components(EC) is the worlds' leading hydrocarbon Management (HCM) software suite for production management in oil and gas. Overview

We're seeking a motivated recent graduate to join our growing engineering team in Stavanger. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about technology, eager to learn, and excited about working with modern software development practices. You don't need to be an expert in everything—we value curiosity, problem-solving ability, and a genuine interest in emerging technologies including AI.

You will join our diverse engineering team in Stavanger, working alongside developers ranging from junior to senior levels. This collaborative environment provides excellent mentorship and learning opportunities as you work on enterprise software solutions that power the energy industry. As a Junior Software Engineer, you'll contribute to building and maintaining Energy Components, the worlds leading Hydrocarbon Accounting software, while developing your skills with guidance from experienced team members.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle as part of a global Agile team
  • Write, test, and maintain code for application features and enhancements
  • Troubleshoot issues, investigate root causes, and implement fixes
  • Collaborate with team members to understand requirements and design solutions
  • Continuously learn new technologies, tools, and best practices
  • Explore and experiment with emerging technologies including AI and automation
  • And other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (recent graduate or final year student)
  • Foundation in programming concepts and software development
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to dig into complex technical challenges
  • Exposure to Java or similar object-oriented programming languages (academic or personal projects count!)
  • Basic understanding of databases and SQL
  • Genuine curiosity about technology and eagerness to learn new skills
  • Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Self-motivated with a desire to take ownership of your work
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of Oracle databases and PL/SQL
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git, SVN)
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Experience with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Knowledge of REST APIs
  • Interest or coursework in AI/Machine Learning
  • Any cloud platform exposure (Azure, AWS)
