The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the planning, coordination, and execution of construction and development projects from initiation through completion. The role works closely with Project Managers, consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
The APM assists in project scheduling, documentation, cost monitoring, procurement coordination, and stakeholder communication while supporting continuous improvement across project delivery processes.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination and Execution
- Assist in developing and maintaining project scopes, schedules, budgets, and execution plans.
- Coordinate project activities with consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal departments.
- Track project milestones and monitor progress against project schedules.
- Support construction and development monitoring and report project status to senior management.
- Assist with tendering, procurement, and contract administration processes.
- Prepare project documentation including reports, meeting minutes, and progress updates.
- Maintain project documentation systems and ensure proper document control and record management.
- Track change orders, project variations, and approvals.
- Support preparation of executive summaries and project performance reports.
- Assist in monitoring project budgets, cost controls, and financial tracking.
- Review contractor invoices and payment applications for accuracy and compliance.
- Track project expenditures against approved budgets.
- Support project forecasting and financial reporting activities.
- Coordinate project meetings and track follow-up actions.
- Provide regular project updates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Support resolution of project-related issues and escalations.
- Maintain professional relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors.
- Ensure project activities comply with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in quality control inspections and project handover procedures.
- Support project risk identification, mitigation planning, and issue management.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in project management, construction, facilities management, or property development.
- Knowledge of project lifecycle management and construction processes.
- Experience supporting budget tracking, procurement, and contract administration.
- Experience coordinating with consultants, contractors, and stakeholders is preferred.
