Position Title: People Operations Coordinator 
Location: Toronto, Hybrid  
Type: Full-Time, Contract

Target Salary: $58,500 - $65,000 + 10% in Lieu of Benefits


What You’ll Do:  

Reporting to the VP, Human Experience, the People Operations Coordinator plays a key role in supporting HRPA’s internal employee experience and operations. This role contributes to the delivery of HR services across the full employee lifecycle, supports HR systems including HRIS implementation and process improvements, and helps coordinate HRPA’s IDEA initiatives. This position is ideal for someone looking to grow their HR career while gaining exposure to recruitment, HR systems, compliance, employee engagement, HRIS implementation, and HR strategy implementation. 

People Operations & HR Administration 

  • Support the administration of the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employment changes, performance documentation, and offboarding 

  • Coordinate recruitment activities such as job postings, interview scheduling, reference checks, and offer preparation 

  • Support payroll processing and benefits administration  

  • Help maintain job descriptions and HR documentation 

  • Participate as a member of the Joint Health & Safety Committee 

  • Support compliance with Ontario employment legislation and HR policies 

HR Systems & Operational Excellence 

  • Support the implementation and optimization of HRIS systems 

  • Develop and update HR process documentation and workflows 

  • Track key HR metrics such as time-to-fill, turnover, and engagement participation 

  • Assist in preparing HR dashboards and workforce reporting 

  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and operational efficiency 

Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Accessibility (IDEA) 

  • Support the execution of HRPA’s IDEA strategy 

  • Coordinate IDEA initiatives, learning sessions, and awareness activities 

  • Assist with IDEA data tracking and reporting 

  • Support policy reviews and updates through an equity and inclusion lens 

  • Contribute to employee engagement initiatives and action planning 
     

Qualifications We’re Excited About: 

Education: Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. 

Professional Designations:

  • CHRP designation or progress toward the CHRP is considered an asset 

  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation is an asset 

Experience:  

  • 1–3 years of progressive HR experience in a full-service HR environment 

  • Experience supporting recruitment and onboarding processes 

  • Exposure to payroll and benefits administration 

  • Experience working with HRIS platforms 

  • Experience supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives is an asset 

Capabilities:

  • High proficiency and aptitude in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.  

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment 

  • Analytical and process-oriented mindset 

  • Comfort working with confidential information 

  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusive workplace practices 

  • Flexible and adaptable to a rapidly changing environment
