Job Purpose

To lead and institutionalize enterprise-wide transformation at Bank Nizwa by defining, governing, and delivering the Bank’s transformation agenda across business, operations, technology enablement, customer experience, and culture ensuring initiatives are strategically aligned, financially value accretive, risk controlled, and fully Shari’a compliant.


Main Tasks & Accountabilities


Transformation Strategy & Roadmap


  • Develop and continuously refine the Bank’s multi-year transformation strategy aligned with corporate objectives and CEO priorities.
  • Translate strategic objectives into a prioritized, sequenced enterprise transformation roadmap.
  • Ensure alignment between transformation initiatives and annual business plans.


Transformation Office & Enterprise PMO Governance


  • Establish and lead the Transformation Office and Enterprise PMO framework including governance, stage-gates, and performance tracking.
  • Oversee end-to-end delivery of all strategic transformation programs (business, operational, digital, regulatory).
  • Implement governance, stage-gates, and performance tracking mechanisms.
  • Define and enforce portfolio prioritization criteria based on ROI, risk impact, regulatory urgency, and strategic value.
  • Ensure strong program management disciplines: scope control, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, quality assurance, and benefit realization.


Cross-Functional Execution & Resource Optimization


  • Lead cross-functional execution across Retail, Wholesale, Treasury, Risk, Compliance, IT, Operations, HR, and Finance.
  • Identify resource gaps and optimize allocation across programs to avoid delivery bottlenecks.


Benefits Realization & Financial Impact


  • Establish measurable KPIs and benefits realization frameworks in collaboration with Finance.
  • Monitor financial impact including cost-to-income improvement, productivity gains, revenue enhancement, and capital efficiency.


Operational Excellence & Automation


  • Drive operational excellence initiatives including Lean process redesign, waste elimination, and TAT reduction.
  • Champion automation initiatives such as workflow digitization, RPA, and straight-through processing.


Digital Enablement & Customer Experience


  • Ensure customer journey optimization across physical and digital channels to enhance service quality and NPS.
  • Partner with IT to align business transformation requirements with technology architecture and cybersecurity standards.


Risk, Compliance & Shari’a Governance Alignment


  • Embed risk-by-design and controls-by-design principles within all transformation initiatives.
  • Ensure full compliance with CBO regulations, internal policies, and audit requirements.
  • Engage Shari’a Compliance and Shari’a Supervisory Board early for initiatives impacting Islamic banking products or processes.


Change Management & Adoption


  • Lead enterprise-wide change management including stakeholder engagement, communications, and training programs.
  • Establish a network of change champions across departments to ensure adoption and sustainability.


Executive Reporting & Issue Management


  • Develop executive dashboards and board-ready reporting for ExCo and relevant Board Committees.
  • Escalate risks and delivery issues proactively with mitigation plans and recovery strategies.


Vendor & Partner Management


  • Manage transformation vendors and external consultants including performance monitoring and SLA adherence.


Capability Building


  • Foster a culture of accountability, agility, innovation, and continuous improvement across the Bank.


Education


  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree; Preferred: MBA


Professional Qualification


  • Preferred: PMP/PRINCE2, Lean Six Sigma, Change Management.


Working Experience


  • 15+ years banking experience; 8+ years leading transformation.
