Role : Kotlin Developer

Location : London / Burgess Hill, UK (Hybrid)

Contract (InsideIR35)


Full‑Stack Engineer, building secure, scalable customer‑facing services. You will work across Kotlin backend services and TypeScript/React frontends, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, and leverage agentic AI tooling. This role emphasizes collaboration, learning, and clear communication with cross‑functional teams.


What you will do :

  • Implement and maintain backend services using Kotlin and modern JVM frameworks.
  • Build and enhance web UI components with TypeScript and React.
  • Contribute to CI/CD practices: automated builds, tests, deployments, and monitoring.
  • Help develop and test internal agentic AI tooling (assistant orchestration, safety patterns) for engineering use only.
  • Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and sprint planning.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and deliver reliable fixes.
  • Communicate progress and trade‑offs clearly to engineers, product managers, and stakeholders.


Required qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent, or relevant internship experience.
  • Experience with Kotlin (or another JVM language) and TypeScript.
  • Practical experience building React applications.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and workflows (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Basic understanding of agentic AI concepts and tooling for internal development.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable presenting technical ideas to non‑technical audiences.
  • Desire to learn and operate in a regulated, security‑conscious environment.


Nice to have :

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Exposure to secure coding practices and data privacy/anonymization techniques.
  • Internship or project experience in fintech or insurance domains.
