Role Overview

As an Investment Banking Analyst in Zurich, you will play a central role in the execution of live transactions and the development of new business opportunities. Working in lean deal teams, you will gain broad exposure across sectors, products, and client types, contributing to all stages of deal processes from initial pitches to transaction completion.


Key Responsibilities

Transaction Execution

  • Assist in executing M&A, equity, and debt transactions, including financial analysis, modelling, and preparing deal materials.
  • Build and maintain financial models such as DCF, LBO, merger, and comparables analyses.
  • Support due diligence processes, review documentation, and coordinate with legal, tax, and external advisors.
  • Prepare marketing documents, investor presentations, and transaction materials.


Client Support & Interaction

  • Draft client presentations for advisory mandates and pitch meetings.
  • Support senior bankers in client discussions by providing analysis, insights, and market perspectives.
  • Participate in client meetings, workshops, and project updates.


Research & Analysis

  • Conduct thorough company, industry, and sector research.
  • Analyse financial statements, performance drivers, and market data to support strategic recommendations.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities relevant to ongoing and prospective transactions.


Cross‑Border Collaboration

  • Work closely with Jefferies teams across Europe and globally to deliver seamless execution on cross‑border mandates.
  • Coordinate internally to ensure alignment across product and sector groups.


Business Development

  • Support the creation of pitchbooks, proposals, and other origination materials.
  • Assist in identifying new opportunities, tracking developments in the Swiss and DACH markets, and supporting strategic business initiatives.


Qualifications & Skills

Academic & Technical

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Strong academic performance and solid foundation in finance and valuation.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling, valuation methodologies, Excel, and PowerPoint.


Professional Experience

  • 1–2 years of investment banking, M&A advisory, or related experience


Languages

  • Fluency in Swiss German advantageous

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and writing abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, demanding environment with strong attention to detail.
