*Contract* DevOps Engineer - Sydney
A client of Sustain's is looking for a DevOps Engineer to build and operate secure, scalable AWS cloud platforms. You’ll partner with platform and delivery teams to improve reliability, security, and continuous delivery across always-on systems.
Responsibilities
- Own and optimise secure, highly available AWS infrastructure
- Ensure Infrastructure-as-Code and automation standards are met (CloudFormation/CDK)
- Provide technical leadership in architecture, design, and integrations
- Embed security-by-design and deliver compliant cloud solutions
- Modernise platforms, migrate legacy systems, and manage service transitions
- Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines and deployment practices
Requirements
- Strong developer mindset with coding/scripting and SDLC experience
- 5+ years AWS DevOps (VPC, EC2, ALB/NLB, Lambda)
- 5+ years Infrastructure-as-Code & automation (CloudFormation/CDK)
- Expertise in networking, infrastructure, and production operations
- Strong AWS security and compliance experience (E8, ISM)
- Proven CI/CD delivery and technical leadership experience
