About the role


Designed for someone early in their quantitative career, this role is ideal for someone who wants to move beyond theory and see how models actually drive decisions in a live fintech environment. You’ll work closely with experienced risk, data, and product teams, learning how technology-enabled lenders operate and how data can be used to build smarter, faster financial products.


In this role, data, technology, and credit come together to drive smarter lending decisions, you’ll help build, test, and monitor credit risk, financial, and behavioural models that directly influence real lending decisions.


This is a hands-on opportunity to work with real world data, modern modelling techniques, and scalable risk frameworks in a dynamic environment. You’ll gain exposure to the full lifecycle of credit models from development and validation through to deployment and ongoing performance monitoring helping shape how the business understands risk and supports customers.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Perform statistical testing, regression analysis, and back-testing on credit and behavioural scorecards
  • Support model development initiatives including:
  • Behavioural score testing and calibration
  • Stretch-limit analysis
  • Asset-type and collateral-based lending analytics
  • Conduct performance monitoring, outcome analysis, and stability testing on live portfolios
  • Assist with model validation activities, including sensitivity analysis, benchmarking, and performance diagnostics
  • Prepare clear analytical outputs to support credit decisions, governance forums, and senior stakeholders
  • Contribute to documentation supporting model risk, validation, and control requirements
  • Work closely with Credit, Risk, Data, and Technology teams to translate analytical insights into practical decisioning outcomes


Experience and Skills Required:


  • Recent graduate or early-career professional (0–2 years) in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Actuarial Studies, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline
  • Strong grounding in quantitative and statistical techniques, likely including exposure to:
  • Regression analysis (linear, logistic, multivariate)
  • Hypothesis testing and statistical inference
  • Time-series analysis or panel data concepts
  • Exploratory data analysis and feature analysis
  • Basic model evaluation metrics (e.g. accuracy, stability, sensitivity)
  • Familiarity with analytical tools such as Python, R, SQL, or similar (advanced Excel skills assumed)
  • Curious, analytical, and motivated to build a career in risk, modelling, and fintech
  • Comfortable working with imperfect real-world data and iterating toward practical solutions
  • Able to communicate analysis clearly and engage with senior stakeholders, gaining exposure well beyond a typical graduate role

  • First-hand experience of how fintech credit products are designed, tested, and governed
