About the Company

Trust in SODA are working with a well established & high-growth European technology organisation that operates a globally used digital platform processing large volumes of real-time data.

The business builds highly scalable infrastructure and distributed systems that support millions of daily users. Engineering teams focus heavily on performance, automation, and reliability, running complex hybrid environments across cloud platforms and private infrastructure.

The company fosters a collaborative engineering culture where experimentation, technical ownership, and continuous improvement are encouraged.

The Role

Our client is seeking a Network Engineer to join their infrastructure platform team responsible for designing, maintaining, and improving the networking layer that supports business-critical systems.

You will work closely with cloud, infrastructure, and platform engineering teams to ensure the networking environment remains secure, scalable, highly available, and performance optimised across both cloud and data centre environments.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys deep technical problem solving, network automation, and modern infrastructure architecture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and evolve network architecture across hybrid cloud and on-premise infrastructure
  • Manage and optimise routing, switching, and firewall configurations across production systems
  • Maintain high levels of network availability, performance, and security
  • Troubleshoot complex networking issues and conduct root cause analysis on critical incidents
  • Implement network automation to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual processes
  • Collaborate with platform and systems engineers to support infrastructure scaling and platform reliability
  • Document network designs, operational procedures, and infrastructure standards
  • Share knowledge across teams and help develop less experienced engineers

Technical Environment

You will work with technologies such as:

  • Juniper networking equipment including routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Enterprise networking infrastructure
  • Routing protocols: BGP, OSPF
  • Core networking protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP(S)
  • Modern data centre networking architectures including IP Fabric
  • Hybrid cloud networking environments
  • Infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform or Ansible
  • Monitoring and observability tools used to track network health and performance
  • Networking concepts supporting containerised and distributed systems

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering or infrastructure engineering
  • Hands-on experience working with Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Strong understanding of routing, switching, and network security principles
  • Knowledge of network protocols and routing technologies such as TCP/IP, BGP, and OSPF
  • Experience working within modern data centre architectures (e.g., IP Fabric)
  • Familiarity with cloud networking concepts within hybrid infrastructure environments
  • Experience building or maintaining automated infrastructure using IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, or similar)
  • Ability to communicate technical topics clearly to cross-functional teams
  • Comfortable participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting large-scale production platforms
  • Familiarity with public cloud networking architectures
  • Exposure to containerised workloads or Kubernetes networking
  • Experience working with data centre hardware environments

What You Can Expect

  • Opportunity to work on large-scale distributed infrastructure
  • Exposure to modern cloud and hybrid networking architectures
  • A collaborative engineering culture focused on innovation and improvement
  • Professional development opportunities and learning resources
  • Flexible working arrangements and competitive benefits
