The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Senior Data Scientist (Individual Contributor) to join our Data Services team in Luxembourg. You will lead research and enablement around new retail media, ecommerce, and marketplace data sources and APIs (including clean-room style environments and third-party aggregators), and turn them into analytics, decision models, and tool logic that improve content delivery and media management workflows. You’ll collaborate closely with BI Engineering and Data Delivery, and you’ll also be client-facing, building trust, explaining methodologies, and driving adoption.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Research & onboard new data sources: Evaluate new first-party and third-party datasets/APIs, assess feasibility (availability, granularity, privacy constraints, refresh cadence, cost/value), and define how they can be used responsibly.
- Develop scalable use cases: Convert business needs into clear analytical/modeling use cases that improve media execution, audience strategy, content decisions, and operational workflows.
- Build decision models & tool logic: Create reusable data models and decision frameworks that power internal tools and client solutions (e.g., prioritization, recommendations, forecasting, guardrails).
- Apply ML/AI thoughtfully: Prototype and implement ML/AI approaches to refine targeting, campaign management, and content decisions, with a focus on explainability, measurement, and business impact.
- Partner with BI Engineering & Data Delivery: Help operationalize logic into reliable datasets, transformations, and production workflows; support day-to-day troubleshooting, validation, and standardization.
- Client interface & enablement: Explain the “why” behind models, metrics, dashboards, and tools; guide adoption through clear communication, documentation, and training.
- Commercial support & storytelling: Join client pitches to capture requirements, assess feasibility, present existing solutions, and create case studies that showcase capabilities and outcomes.
- 8+ years of experience in Data Science / Applied ML / Advanced Analytics (ideally in digital advertising, retail media, e-commerce, or marketplaces).
- Expert Python skills for analysis and modeling; strong engineering discipline (clean, testable, maintainable code).
- Advanced SQL and strong capability working with large, multi-source datasets and complex business logic.
- Strong foundation in statistics, measurement, and experimentation; able to defend methodology and trade-offs with clients and stakeholders.
- Proven experience building decision models that are operationalized (not only research prototypes), including clear assumptions and robust evaluation.
- MLOps experience: deploying/operationalizing models, monitoring performance and drift, establishing retraining/refresh strategies, and implementing reproducible pipelines.
- Data engineering collaboration: comfortable partnering with data engineering/BI teams to productionize data flows, data quality checks, and scalable transformation layers; experience collaborating with BI transformation frameworks (e.g., dbt) and building consistent metric/semantic layers across products and clients.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; can translate ambiguity into a plan and technical depth into adoption-ready explanations.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Experience working with privacy-safe / clean-room-like analytics environments and modern data governance constraints.
- Cloud data stack exposure (warehouse/lakehouse patterns, orchestration, CI/CD for data/ML).
- Experience with NLP/GenAI applied to commercial insights and content workflows, with appropriate human-in-the-loop controls.
- Additional languages (French or German).
