To strengthen its IT department, our client is looking for an experienced professional who will contribute to the stability and evolution of the core banking systems supporting securities operations.
As a Banking Systems IT Engineer, you will work in an Agile and DevOps environment within collaborative teams dedicated to savings and investment platforms. The position focuses on maintaining, improving, and securing critical banking systems used for securities processing.
In this role, responsibilities include:
- Diagnosing and resolving production incidents affecting COBOL, Mainframe, middleware, and external banking applications such as reconciliation tools.
- Delivering system improvements by implementing code fixes, batch updates, scripts, and application enhancements while following strict change management procedures.
- Supporting business operations on a daily basis, particularly for processes related to SWIFT flows, settlements, and reconciliations.
- Maintaining and implementing IT risk and security controls, including identity and access management, backup procedures, monitoring systems, and vulnerability management.
- Investigating recurring technical issues and proposing solutions to improve system stability and operational efficiency.
- Producing clear technical documentation, including system flows, incident resolutions, and control procedures.
- Contributing to internal audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with banking standards and regulatory requirements.
- Working closely with operations, IT engineering, and risk management teams to guarantee secure and resilient banking platforms.
As a Banking Systems IT Engineer, your profile is described as follows:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology or a related technical field.
- At least 5 years of experience working with banking systems, ideally within the securities domain.
- Strong knowledge of COBOL, SQL, and JCL programming languages.
- Experience with database technologies such as DB2 or Oracle.
- Familiarity with Mainframe environments (TSO/MVS) and Linux systems.
- Practical experience using tools such as TSO, Compuware Topaz, SPUFI, Filemanager, and Abend-Aid.
- Understanding of middleware technologies such as MQ and CI/CD platforms like Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge of SWIFT financial messages (MT5xx) and ISO 20022 standards related to securities processing.
As a Banking Systems IT Engineer, you can expect the following:
