Android Developer

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Android Developer to join our team in Amsterdam. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Kotlin-based Android development, a deep understanding of the mobile application lifecycle, and experience integrating secure APIs and cloud-based services.

You will work within an Agile environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain high-quality mobile applications. The role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and a focus on secure and scalable mobile solutions, particularly in a regulated environment such as financial services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin (and Java where required)
• Work with Android SDK, Android Studio, and Jetpack components
• Manage the full mobile development lifecycle, from design to deployment
• Integrate and secure RESTful APIs and external SDKs
• Implement secure coding practices and unit testing
• Collaborate with backend teams to integrate cloud-based services
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated builds and deployments
• Ensure application performance, scalability, and security

Required Skills & Experience

• 8–10 years of Android development experience
• Strong expertise in Kotlin (Java as needed)
• Proficiency with Android SDK, Android Studio, and Jetpack components
• Deep understanding of the mobile application development lifecycle
• Experience with:
• Design patterns
• Threading
• File I/O
• Memory management
• Mobile security practices
• Hands-on experience integrating RESTful APIs and external SDKs
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications
• Knowledge of secure coding best practices and unit testing

Cloud & Platform Experience

• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure cloud services, including:
• Azure App Services
• Azure Functions
• Azure Logic Apps
• Azure Storage
• Monitoring tools
