The product

A globally deployed tech platform operating at the intersection of smart infrastructure and general public safety. The architecture spans edge devices, data backends, and enterprise frontends, running on modern containerised stacks across hybrid cloud and bare metal environments worldwide.

This isn't SaaS for internal tooling. What you build and maintain has direct, real-world consequences.

What you'd be doing

• Embedding SRE culture across engineering teams, making reliability everyone's responsibility, not just the platform team's
• Defining and refining SLIs and SLOs that map to actual user and customer experience
• Owning Kubernetes lifecycle management across a hybrid, multi-cloud global environment
• Eliminating toil through automation and internal tooling (primarily Golang)
• Building observability that goes beyond uptime. Helping teams understand their systems
• Driving incident response improvements: MTTR, MTTA, self-healing mechanisms, structured RCAs
• Collaborating closely with application teams to shift how they think about reliability

What you'd bring

• 4+ years of professional experience in the area.
• Genuine passion for SRE principles - error budgets, SLOs, blameless culture, the whole philosophy
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience at scale. Debugging distributed systems, Helm, capacity planning
• Production-level Istio experience. You know your way around service mesh configuration, mTLS, and troubleshooting Envoy proxies.
• Strong observability background with Prometheus and Grafana
• Cloud engineering experience (GCP preferred), with Terraform and GitLab pipelines
• Solid Linux/Unix fundamentals and networking knowledge
• Comfortable writing code to solve problems - Golang or Java, not just shell scripts
• A natural ability to bring people along with you. This role is as much about culture as it is about tech

Nice to have

• GitOps experience with ArgoCD
• Vault or similar secret management
• Experience working across hybrid environments (cloud + bare metal)
• Istio in multi-cluster or multi-cloud setups
• Background in safety-critical or high-availability systems
