The Senior Manager: Tax is responsible to ensure optimal tax benefits for the Finco HoldCo by applying sound tax management planning and principles within global and national legislative guidelines. This role inputs to the Tax Strategy, Implementation, Compliance, and Optimisation for the HoldCo entity in Netherlands. The incumbent will work with the Group Fintech Tax teams to ensure alignment between the Netherlands and SA entities and ensure knowledge sharing and efficiency creation.


Core Responsibilities

1. Tax Strategy & Planning

  • Contribute to the development and execution of the Group Fintech tax strategy by providing structure, frameworks, models, and roadmaps for the HoldCo organization.
  • Develop and implement effective tax strategies for Finco entities in the Netherlands to ensure compliance, prudence, and favorable group tax positioning.
  • Provide expert input on transfer pricing matters, ensuring compliance with OECD guidelines and alignment with Group policies.

2. Tax Compliance & Risk Management

  • Oversee Dutch tax accounting, compliance, and reporting requirements, ensuring adherence to local and international tax laws.
  • Manage and ensure timely execution of tax filings, reconciliations, submissions, and remittances in compliance with government regulations.
  • Prepare consolidated tax budgets and forecasts, incorporating inputs from Opcos, and reconcile effective tax rates with variance analysis.
  • Develop and maintain a tax risk framework to identify, monitor, and mitigate exposures that may lead to penalties or reputational risks.

3. Tax Reporting & Insights

  • Prepare accurate and timely tax disclosures for Group Financial Statements, Integrated Reports, ESG Transparency Reports, and Investor Relations publications.
  • Report key tax KPIs to leadership and provide insights into Group effective tax rate movements and drivers.
  • Monitor and report on HoldCo tax risk exposure and present updates to relevant Group functions and committees.

4. Governance & Stakeholder Management

  • Actively participate in strategic and governance meetings, providing expert input on tax implications of business and financial decisions.
  • Drive adequate tax risk mitigation controls and ensure policies and procedures remain relevant and effective.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders (Group CFO, Group Tax, OpCo Finance teams) and external stakeholders (auditors, regulators, tax authorities, advisors).

5. Operational Excellence & Best Practices

  • Ensure tax processes and systems are standardized, efficient, and aligned with Group frameworks.
  • Introduce automation and digital tax solutions where feasible (e.g., e-filing systems, compliance management tools).
  • Benchmark tax practices against industry peers and implement improvements to enhance compliance and efficiency.


The incumbent must have the following:

Education:

  • A University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or equivalent degree in a reputable University
  • Master’s degree in finance, Business Administration, law or international taxation (advantageous)
  • Chartered Accountant / Registered Accountant / CFA (advantageous)


Experience:

  • 8 - 10 years of relevant experience in Tax Management
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant working managerial experience in the Financial Services, Fintech, Banking sectors in multinational organisations
  • Proven experience in working in Corporate/HoldCo HQs
  • Technical Experience in Tax compliance, Reporting Corporate Taxation, Litigations, Disputes and Negotiations
  • Good understanding of the Dutch participation exemption, interest deduction rules, fiscal unity regulations, mergers, liquidations, withholding taxes, tax treaties
  • Experience working in a medium to large organization
  • Very good in English (written and oral) and Dutch
