Groupon is on a radical journey to transform our business with relentless pursuit of results. Even with thousands of employees spread across multiple continents, we still maintain a culture that inspires innovation, rewards risk-taking and celebrates success. The impact here can be immediate due to our scale and the speed of our transformation. We're a "best of both worlds" kind of company. We're big enough to have the resources and scale, but small enough that a single person has a surprising amount of autonomy and can make a meaningful impact.
We're looking for an HR Generalist to be the HR heart of our Warsaw office, a trusted advisor, a culture champion, and a go-to expert for everything people-related in Poland.
đ Warsaw, Poland
đ 1-Year Fixed Term Contract
đ˘ Hybrid - 3 Days in Office
You'll own the full HR remit for our Poland entity, partnering closely with our HR Operations Specialist on operational excellence while acting as a first point of contact for leaders, teams and stakeholders across the business.
This role is pivotal in ensuring our employees are supported, engaged and empowered - while helping to drive business success locally. If you're a self-starter with deep knowledge of Polish employment law and a genuine passion for people, we'd love to hear from you.
The Role
You'll spend time on the following
đĽ Employee Relations & Compliance (~35% of role)
- Leading and managing complex ER cases (disciplinary, grievance, performance management, absence) ensuring full compliance with Polish employment law and Groupon's internal policies
- Coaching and upskilling managers to handle people matters confidently, consistently and in line with local law
- Supporting restructuring and organisational change initiatives, including redundancy processes
- Ensuring clear and effective communication across HR, employees and management teams
- Providing first-line guidance to team leaders and managers on HR matters, escalating complex issues where appropriate
- Building authentic, trusted relationships with stakeholders across different business units
- Representing and communicating HR policies clearly and accessibly to all audiences
- Preparing employment contracts, amendments and termination documentation in line with Polish labour law
- Maintaining accurate personnel files and HR system data
- Processing and managing leave requests - vacation, sick leave, parental leave and other absences - in compliance with local legislation
- Supporting employees with benefits enrolments and responding to routine HR queries
- Producing HR reports and metrics for management review; contributing to cross-functional HR projects
- A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law or a related field or equivalent practical experience
- 2-4 years of experience in HR Operations, Shared Services or People Administration, ideally within a mid-to-large or matrixed organisation
- Experience supporting restructuring, organisational change and cross-border HR projects
- Deep, hands-on knowledge of Polish employment law, HR best practices and GDPR is essential
- The ability to work autonomously and deliver results without a large support team around you
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills - you're a natural influencer and relationship builder
- Strong organisational and data management skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- The discretion and integrity to handle sensitive information with confidence
- Proficiency in digital tools and AI-driven HR technologies
- Fluency in both Polish and English is mandatory
