Human-Centered Discovery & Usability Testing
- Plan and conduct research (interviews, shadowing, workshops, prototype testing).
- Run usability tests to improve safety, efficiency, and error reduction.
- Develop personas, journey maps, and maintain research insights.
Clinical Safety, Accessibility & Responsible Design
- Design for safety by minimizing cognitive load and preventing errors.
- Apply accessibility (WCAG) and inclusive design standards.
- Craft clear microcopy, onboarding, error states, and AI explain ability patterns.
XR Experiences Design & Prototyping (Secondary Focus)

- Create VR prototypes/storyboards and collaborate on implementation and user evaluation.
- Ensure alignment with learning objectives and clinical realism.
Design Systems & Standardization
- Build and maintain design systems and clinical workflow components.
- Establish UX guidelines for regulated and safety-sensitive environments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Delivery
- Collaborate with product, clinical, research, and engineering teams to define scope and MVPs.
- Participate in agile processes and ensure design quality through development and QA.
- Document design rationale, usability findings, and adoption insights.
Innovation, Storytelling & Stakeholder Communication
- Develop compelling prototypes and narratives for stakeholders and demos.
- Contribute to product vision and roadmap through research-driven recommendations.
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in UX/UI Design, HCI, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, Computer Science (with design focus), or related.
- Master's degree in HCI, Design Research, Digital Health, or related.
- Professional certification in UX research, accessibility (WCAG), service design, or VR interaction design is preferred.
Experience Requirements:
- 10 years of UI/UX design experience delivering production end-to-end.
- 5+ years of Healthcare, life sciences, regulated products, or safety-critical workflows experience.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Expert UI/UX craft: information architecture, interaction design, visual design, and component-based design systems.
- UX research skills: interview planning, synthesis, usability testing, journey mapping, and translating insights into decisions.
- Prototyping: Figma (advanced), interactive prototypes; bonus: ProtoPie/Framer.
- Accessibility and inclusive design principles; ability to design for diverse users and constrained clinical contexts.
