About The Role
Deloitte is seeking an experienced Principal UI/UX Designer to join its Hyderabad team. This pivotal role involves designing intuitive, visually compelling, and user-centric interfaces for complex Internet of Things (IoT) platforms and connected-device applications. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of design excellence and technical understanding, particularly in modern front-end ecosystems such as TypeScript, NestJS fundamentals, and GraphQL-driven workflows. You will work closely with product owners, developers, and stakeholders to translate complex IoT workflows into seamless, engaging user experiences. Your expertise will ensure that the interfaces are responsive, accessible, and aligned with best UX practices, ultimately enhancing user satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of proven experience in UI/UX design, preferably within the IoT domain. A strong understanding of UX principles, design thinking, accessibility standards (WCAG), and user-centered methodologies is essential. Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and practical familiarity with React and TypeScript will enable effective collaboration with engineering teams. Additionally, candidates should possess a solid understanding of backend concepts such as NestJS architecture, modules, controllers, and how UI interacts with GraphQL and REST APIs. Experience designing for GraphQL-based applications, responsive design, and cross-device compatibility is highly valued. Familiarity with Agile methodologies, CI/CD workflows, and version control tools like Git is also preferred. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills are critical, along with the ability to mentor junior designers and contribute to scalable design processes.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging, responsive, and accessible user interfaces that meet UX best practices and business objectives. Your key responsibilities will include collaborating with product owners, developers, and stakeholders to translate complex IoT workflows into intuitive design experiences. You will conduct user research, usability testing, heuristic evaluations, and design validation to ensure consistency and usability across IoT dashboards and control interfaces. Creating interactive prototypes, wireframes, design systems, and user flows using tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD will be integral to your work. You will partner with engineering teams to ensure pixel-perfect implementation and seamless integration of UI with TypeScript, GraphQL APIs, and backend architectures built using NestJS. Additionally, you will apply and evolve design systems, component libraries, and reusable UI patterns to support scalability across multiple IoT products and platforms. Your role will also involve UI testing, accessibility evaluations, and quality assurance to uphold design accuracy and end-user usability. Staying updated with emerging design trends and technologies relevant to IoT, GraphQL UX patterns, and modern UI frameworks will be essential for continuous improvement and innovation.
